Earlier today I joined hundreds of runners in the Jerusalem Children Home Marathon, taking on the 10 km run with one clear goal to help support the children at Jerusalem Children’s Home in Kigamboni. This event is not just about fitness; it’s about giving hope and building a stronger future for vulnerable kids.
I also had the opportunity to visit the center, where I was deeply moved by the resilience of these children. Some of them have never known the embrace of their parents, yet the staff care for them with a level of love and dedication that is truly inspiring. It reminded me that the smallest acts of kindness can create the biggest impact in someone’s life.
What really stood out was seeing how many people showed up and supported. Folks from Kigamboni and all over Dar es Salaam came together, running with one goal and proving that when we work as one, we can make a real difference. I felt proud to be part of that unity because that’s what truly keeps a community alive.
As GSM, we were proud to be among the supporters of this year’s edition. Our involvement reflects our wider commitment to community impact, especially in education, welfare, and youth development. Sports continue to be a powerful bridge between compassion and action.
I sincerely thank Hon. Dr. Dorothy Gwajima the Minister of Community Development Gender, Women and Special Groups. for standing with this cause, Jerusalem Children's Home for their tireless efforts to care for these children, GSM Foundation for sponsoring and supporting this mission of hope, and EFM Tanzania for their role in making this event successful.
Let’s keep showing up.
